Biography

Christopher E. Mandel is President and Managing Consultant of Excellence in Risk Management, LLC, Assistant Professor & Instructor of the ERM Practice, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and is an Adjunct Professor at Florida State and George Mason Universities and was on the ERM Master Program Advisory Council at Yeshiva University. Mr. Mandel has more than 30 years leadership positions and accomplishments in large corporate global risk management.

He currently holds various board or advisory appointments to various industry related organizations. He was a key leader in the Risk Management Society including president, elected a founding member of Risk Who’s Who in 2008, was named Risk Manager of the Year (2004) and received the Goodell Award for lifetime achievement (2016), RIMS highest honor. He secured is BS in Business Management from Virginia Tech and his MBA in Finance from George Mason University. He is recognized by his peers as a thought leader in ERM and related disciplines and has had continuously running columns in the trade press since 1996.
