At the Costello College of Business at George Mason University, students have numerous opportunities to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Case competitions, unconnected to any course or credit, offer an excellent avenue for students to sharpen their analytical and decision-making skills while gaining valuable experience collaborating as a team in a competitive environment.

Months of hard work and collaboration led to the day of spring final presentations on April 27 for the Mason Consulting Group at George Mason University.

On Saturday, May 16, 20 Fairfax County residents graduated from the Workforce Innovation Success through Entrepreneurship (WISE) Program. These emerging entrepreneurs dedicated the previous nine months to fine-tuning the skill sets and knowledge necessary to continue their entrepreneurial journeys.

The Donald G. Costello College of Business at George Mason University celebrated 1,119 undergraduate and graduate students at a degree celebration on Friday, May 15 at EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus. Graduates join a Costello network of more than 44,000 alumni.

Two members of the Costello College of Business at George Mason University have been honored with the Jack Wood Award for Town-Gown Relations. Selected in the staff category was Rebecca Howick, director of operations and engagement for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE). In the student category, Iman Chaudhry, a sophomore studying management information systems, was recognized.

The Professional Readiness Experiential Program (PREP), an experiential learning initiative within the Costello College of Business at George Mason University, has seen 250 students complete the program and more than 70 projects completed since its inception in 2021.

On Thursday, April 9, 2026, students, faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders from across the George Mason University community gathered to cheer on the final teams of entrepreneurs competing in this year’s Patriot Pitch Competition, including those featured in the competition’s newly introduced Regional Showcase.

Hosted by the Costello College of Business Alumni Chapter and presented by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), the 20th Annual Business Celebration was held on Thursday, March 26, at Fuse at Mason Square in Arlington, Virginia. An evening of networking, fundraising, and recognition of everything accomplished at the Costello College of Business at George Mason University over the past year, it culminated with the presentation of the 2026 Distinguished Patriot Awardees.

With more than 300 members and growing, the Women in Business at Mason student organization at the Costello College of Business, empowers women who are majoring, minoring, or interested in the world of business. Through networking and personal and professional development events, they aim to expand upon members’ skillsets as well as their networks inside and outside of George Mason University. 

To bring the course curriculum to life, Cindy Parker, instructional professor of management and Leidos Corporate Partner Faculty Fellow at the Costello College of Business at George Mason University, welcomed ten human resources (HR) professionals to her advanced HR class for a career panel and networking session. After gaining valuable insights and practical advice from the panelists, students networked in a supportive environment, building meaningful connections and engaging in deeper conversations.
