Biography
Glenn Eckert is a seasoned financial services executive and corporate credit ratings expert with over twenty-five years of leadership experience at Moody’s Investors Service, where he advised global investors, corporate issuers, and market participants on credit risk, capital markets, and corporate performance. As Managing Director of the Corporate Finance Group for North America, he led a sizable portion of Moody’s non-financial corporate ratings portfolio, overseeing sector coverage across consumer products, retail, energy, chemicals, mining and homebuilding.
Glenn’s leadership is widely recognized for driving excellence in ratings quality, research insights, and client engagement. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a unique ability to operate at the intersection of financial analysis, governance, and stakeholder communication. He played a key role in shaping industry response to major regulatory shifts, including the implementation of Dodd-Frank reforms, and chaired thousands of credit rating committees during his tenure. In addition to his deep credit and fixed income expertise, he built and led high-impact global initiatives, including Moody’s investor outreach strategy and its Advancing Customer Experience (ACE) program, strengthening transparency and relationships with issuers and investors worldwide. He also reorganized and scaled Moody’s Global Covenant Research function into a market-leading platform, producing widely cited bond and loan structure research and analytics.
Prior to Moody’s, Glenn held senior roles across leading financial institutions including MUFG, CIBC, and Capital One, where he developed broad experience in corporate finance, media and telecommunications, and business development. He began his career in marketing and brings a well-rounded perspective on how financial strategy, operations, and market positioning drive enterprise value.
Glenn resides on Long Island, NY and holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from George Mason University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is an active member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of New York and has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to community impact through global child charity sponsorship, healthcare fundraising, and nonprofit volunteerism. He is deeply motivated by developing people and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
